We should definitely blog more!
By now we all know that we are in very unique times, with most of us locked down at home doing our bit to save the NHS.
The government has said estate agents should not be in the office or doing face to face viewings or valuations.
We have always been very contactable outside of normal office hours, so working from home is a breeze and with the weather being so great our office has moved into the garden!
We are very willing to value homes over video, talk you through our services etc and do a virtual viewing talking you through the property.
Having a little more time to think we have been making a few very exciting plans for our business so watch this space!!!

Now when agents are being straight with you, they will confirm the market has been “pants” (yes, that’s a technical term!) at best over the last couple of years.
In the Tunbridge Wells area we are very lucky in that it's a lovely area with fabulous schools and great facilities, and people often just move about in the area, whether upsizing or downsizing.
So, we have no reason not to get on and move, no matter what happens with prices - up or down, sometimes life is just more important. If you live in your home for a good few years when you look back at the price you paid it becomes less relevant the more years that pass! And if the price of your property has gone down, then so will the price of the one you buy.

The property market in Spain is beginning to pick up at long last, not knowing quite what will happen after Brexit it has been suggested that buying before we leave the EU could be a very good idea as it is thought that anyone owning a property before we leave will be fine!

Down-sizing is a very difficult decision to make, friends, neighbours, memories...... but remember that we are only caretakers of our properties, what makes it the home is what you fill the property with, pictures, love and memories. We look after, develop and maintain the property ready for the family, you take the memories and love with you.
We very lucky in the UK to have so much history in our homes including all those improvements made by families before us!
We have dealt with many people down-sizing over the years and the people who get the most out of it are those who choose to do it early enough, when they want to rather than when they need to, some leave it too late and then resent the move. We also often when showing a house "it's not big enough for all my furniture ". At this point I have to delicately remind them that downsizing doesn't just involve reducing the size of the property but also the contents within! EBay is sometimes mentioned at this point!
Give consideration to shops, doctors, bus routes etc. Not necessarily for now but if you plan this to be your last move, then one day it might be useful say in 5, 10, or 15 years from now. Feel free to contact us for a chat about it, the easier you make life the more you can get out of it.
